A Failed Saving Throw
Dave Arneson, co-creator of the Dungeons and Dragons pen and paper role playing game, has died. Arneson was less well known than fellow creator Gary Gygax, who died in March of last year, but he was an important part of D&D’s creation. Every player of World of Warcraft or Everquest (or any other fantasy rpg in any form) owes both of these men a great debt.
Arneson, just 61 years old, lost his battle with cancer shortly after 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7.
Michael Tresca has more details on Dave’s contribution to fantasy gaming.
