Sony’s Cheaper eBook Reader

Posted on February 28th, 2009.

The Kindle 2 isn’t the only eBook reader out there.  In fact, it isn’t even the only one Amazon sells.  The Sony PRS-505 Portable Digital e-Reader System can be had for almost $100 less. Posted on February 9th, 2009.

Thanks to a tip from a friend, I picked up an Asus eee PC at BestBuy for $199.  It’s the 900a model, with 1gb of RAM, an 8.9 inch screen and a 4gb ssd drive.  I’ve been wanting a netbook for awhile, and the price was right.  I ditched the included custom Xandros Linux distribution [...]

Posted on February 9th, 2009.

The Amazon Kindle 2 is less ugly, thinner, and has more storage and a better screen.  At $359, it’s still a bit pricey, though.  Come on Amazon, knock off a Benjamin already. The Kindle 2 will be released on February 24, 2009, but Amazon is taking pre-orders.
