Foobar2000 – Easy Audio Conversions

Posted on April 7th, 2009.

For Windows:   Foobar2000 calls itself a lightweight media player, but it really comes in handy when you need to convert music files from one format to another.

For example, I recently found a bunch of .m4a files (AAC) left over from my iPod days (years ago).  These were files I had ripped before realizing iTunes could be set up to rip straight to mp3 format.   I converted them quickly and easily using Foobar and the Lame encoder (which you need to install separately).
