Hackers Take Out 100,000 Websites

The Register reports: “data for as many as 100,000 websites was destroyed by attackers who targeted a zero-day vulnerability in a widely-used virtualization application.”

The hackers targeted a zero-day vulnerability in HyperVM, server virtualization software.

UPDATE: The boss of Indian software firm LxLabs, the maker of HyperVM, has apparently committed suicide.
