Testing FLV Embed Plugin – Elf Dance
Testing the FLV Embed video embedding plugin for WordPress.
Streaming your own videos eats up precious bandwidth, but it’s nice to be able to do it if needed. The plugin only officially supports up to WordPress 2.7, but it seems to work perfectly on 2.9.
Of course, it’s much easier to upload a video to YouTube and let Google eat the bandwidth costs – but there are many reasons you might want to host your own video – and the free FLV Embed plugin for WordPress makes it pretty easy.
UPDATE: Here’s a version hosted on YouTube for comparison. The video quality is better, mainly because I encoded the video I’m hosting as a small ‘flv’ (under 4mb). I uploaded the full sized 16mb ‘mpg’ file to youtube.

Going to have to teach those moves to the rest of us.
