U.S. Army Mandates Windows Vista
The U.S. Army will begin upgrading hundreds of thousands of PC desktops from Windows XP to Windows Vista. All Army computers are to be upgraded by the end of the year. Copies of Office 2003 will also be upgraded, to Office 2007. Good news for Microsoft, possibly bad news for G.I. Joe. The upgrades will hopefully include some serious hardware upgrades where necessary. I’m using Vista and Office 2007, but only on newer hardware. My older PCs are still using Windows XP and Office 2003.
Weapons systems are not included in the scheduled upgrades.
